What A cracking day
Ardent Raceway
Well what can I say all these years I have not took a second glance at Mardave’ After visiting Ardent and watching Gary Crisp flying round with his Dave I just had to have one.
These little pocket rockets today have given me some wicked racing along with buddy Gazag and a whole load of Dave drivers.
Seeing me reach 3rd in the B final I was well happy and my grandson also enjoyed his day so much that he never shut up all the way home. For anyone who does not know Gary Crisp then he is your guy for anything to do with Mardaves he has a wealth of knowledge second to none and all us rookies leaned on poor Gary picking his brains on everything to do with them.

On my first practice the car was a little twitchy gaz looked at the car and set a little toe out the car was running good and clean but still twitchy. Under the watch full eye of Gaz.
Back in the pit area gaz noticed that the circlip had gone walkies on the front upright a new clip was fitted and back out again still a little twitchy so back in again and a change of tyres was the order of the day.

Wicked the car was now on top song and driving it was pure pleasure as I said to Gary I’m not going for any sort of position just getting the car right and clean laps and the car was doing just what I wanted it to do.

On to the B final seen me get away quite good and soon took second position this was great until Gaza shouted come on Paul and then I dropped back to third but held this for 19 laps to finish 3rd well made up

I would tell you about the front wheel coming off in practice but I think it may make Gaza blush
In the final I was the perfect gentleman to Gazag moving over from the race line for him to lap me but come next week he will be nailed.

So to sum it up wicked days racing cheap as chips fast as stink good company good racing
Hey and still have money for a pint on the way home. Anyone who thought Mardaves are nasty little metal lumps think again with a 13.5 brushless you are as fast as the tc cars.

Re: What A cracking day
Well what a cracking day I had with the lads great company
I was so suprised on the turn out of drivers some 14 Mardave's and John told me he has sold a few more Daves as well
So next week there may be (stress May be ) even more of us
So possable another heat . . . . this would be great fun as these little cars do give hours of fun
I must congratulate Gazzag for taking 1st in the B as first time out he done really well so well done to Gazzag
Paul I feel I let you down I need to spend a little extra time sorting out your car its almost there. . .
I had so many people asking me questions and helping them I neglected mine but did manage 3rd overall
I think you need to get a better servo and servo saver and we will work from there go for the HITEC HS225MG ( metal Gears ) its £20 and is a little better quality but it was getting better all the time so possable Tuesday if you are free we can have a sesion at Ardent and get it set up
Wayne again same as Paul we need to get you sorted with a power supply and charger and get your car sorted so when you have a free day we can get yours sorted as well . . .
Phew im cream cracked
But really enjoyed it thanks Guys it was a pleasure to have a real fun Day

Re: What A cracking day
Had a wicked day. Still undecided on the front tyres. Had a pair of Paul which were 42s and they seemed ok but still a bit grippy, and I did offer to pay and he said no don't worry!!!!!!
In the group pic I was looking up and laughing at gazag cuz he just kept giggling. I think it was the bunny ears Paul was doing. Noughty noughty
Gazza I've got a charger now bud hope you don't mind I don't need the charger you showed me. Didn't realy want a power supply and a charger as I use the charger alot a home for my drifting. Thankyou for going to the trouble of getting it for me to have a goosey look.
Sees you soon all

Also making a tyre truer for the ball race wheels. Looks good so far but not at the test stage yet.
