I was shown a great trick at the weekend: double sided carpet tape around the rim, drop of fairy liquid all over to let you pull the tyres over the tape, dry with a hair dryer (or leave outside on Ian's car lol) then put them straight on the truer! Worn a set all the way down now and no lifting or peeling!

I use double sided carpet tape. It's clean easy and I've Neva had one come off yet. Also when your tyres are ran down it's alot easier to put another set on as the evo has to be drilled off or scratched off.

Diy tip ---

Put the tape on the wheel
Put the wheel and the tyre in a cup of warm soapy water (just a little fairy is perfect)
Take them out and put the tyre on and line it up
Than leave on the side till the morning

Job done......

Tape is ok but when the edge of the tyre becomes unstuck from use which they always do then you have to glue the edge back down anyway.
A big benefit of lie is that it doesn't effect the shore rating of the tyre like tape does as the tape raises the tyre off the rim and has the effect of an inner tube on a bike tyre.
Also if you have a tyre truer and have glued your Tyres on but want to reuse re rim. Use the truer like a lathe and true the glue right off the rim using the truer so you end up with a wheel like new if you neat.

P.s if you chunk your tyre an find the missing chunk then Evo stick impact glue it back into the gap and re true the tyre and it will be like new. This is a very old 12th scale trick.

Ok fair point but for me I don't like the mess the evo glue makes and it looks messy on the wheel unless to then clean the wheels.
Being a drifter I like things clean and tidy and looking the best. So the tape is for me for now as I'm only stock at the mo but I'm building a brushless mardave so may need to use the evo glue method as it will be alot faster round and out the corners so the tape may peal off.
