That's some nice work Wayne. Maybe try the black plastic parts as they tend to be less fragile, especially in the cold when the silver parts tend to shatter.

I used the silver as I thought were better and stronger than the black? Let's hope I keep it out of trouble and they won't shatter Laughing Then me new shell will stay nice as well lol!

Hey mate just what we have found is that the silver parts are more rigid but not as forgiving as the the black components which seem to have a higher nylon content. It's akin to if you hit graphite with a hammer it shatters but do the same with steel and it absorbs the hit but may bend abit. Temperatures can make this effect more apparent with cold making things more brittle.

Quick tip for making your aframes stronger, leave them to soak in water for a day or two, don't make it warm water or cold just room temp. This makes the black plastic parts very crash resistant.

Cheers bud. Will do the water trick.

Also how much ground clearance do you recommend on the front from the chassis?

4mm at the front and 5mm at the rear when the Tyres are fresh an new off the truer. You want the front Tyres trued smaller than the back so to get the 4mm you will need to shim the aframes up with washers.

Mardaves have been through every mod/tweak u can imagine but they are a starter class for our sport. The simplicity that allows the more experienced racer the pleasure of tweaking the chassis design with tools and materials easily available also make the mardave the perfect place to start racing as they are cheap strong and simple leading the way into a sport that gets ever more complicated.

That said they are not slow by any means and in the right hands they can be a quick little thing. Also being 12th scale and being very strong you can race them in small halls and large tracks with equal amounts of fun.

""Looking good mate will this be any diffrent to this tho mate""

well yes to the first pic as the brace will not stop the kingpin bending on an angle as with the design I've done can take all angle hits and the second pic well yes as there is no protection on the kingpins

Gazza I'm moving the aerial m8 CHEERs
