weight for the mardave? Empty weight for the mardave?

Post  BuddyRC Tue Nov 09, 2010 2:06 am

I run the STD mardave and wondered what the lowest weight is as I'm trying to get it as light as poss? am I right that the lipo bats are about ????g lighter than the 4 cell? as this would make them quicker and that's my aim for my car.
I have seen a 1000g limit somewhere so is that the lowest or highest?

I have lots of ideas of how the strip the weight but I don't want to make it to light to be legal for the winter series.

cheers

I know a few tricks to make the car lighter....but have NEVER done them myself (yet) lol Suspect

The 1kg (1000g) weight limit is a minimum weight, so you would have to make sure it's above 1kg

Just DONT go making your chassis lighter, I've seen Mardaves in the past that look like swiss cheese with all the holes in the chassis and one big hit and they are ruined!

Make the car too light and you may well find it wont handle cos it's too light!

Thanks for the post m8, i just want to lighten it a little because of the batts i use are quite heavy and i should be getting some 5000 batts soon and they will weigh more as i have 4600 at the moment.

Ive not weighed it yet but will in a bit and post it on here to see if its on par with the others.

Question for the brushless guys is what do your cars weigh?

And I thought it was MINIMUM weight was/is 1kg for all cars (cells or lipo) scratch and if yours is weighing in at 950g's then your 50g's under weight lol

What do you mean where did I get 1050g or 1.5kg from? you said your car weights 950g's Gazza and I said (as a JOKE) your 50g's under weight lol

BTW if I had mean 1.5kg's i would have put 1500g's Wink

So Gazza do you run any weight at Ardent (just wanting to know if peeps who run Lipo do or NOT)

as above Lee the lipo is 950g hence we add 50 to make it 1kg Laughing then you said its still under by 50 scratch
so I now assume you mean its 1.5kg

Just reading the PROPOSED rules the circuit cars want to enforce PDF

And are them rules JUST for the Mardave circuit national series?? Who's written the rules Gazza?

Just read that the Superdave rules include both Ni-cads/Nimh's and Lipo's I take it that these would run together??

weighed me car and bats and the outcome is.....

Car with Calibra shell = 1051g
4600mAh bat = 296g

NOT REALY WORTH MAKING IT LIGHTER AS IT'S NOT MUCH OF THE 1000g minimum.
