cheers mate, took quite a time to get it just how i wanted it and didn't want to over do it , it's real easy to put the paint on and not so to take it off.

A decent dual action brush mate is what you want there is loads on flee-bay i got mine for £30 and is a iwata copy and is a 0.2mm tip so it will go very very fine indeed.
Auto air paints are a good place to start, they do loads of cool colours and dont break the bank altho a good set will cost about £100 but this will give you all the primary's and white/black also some pearls sealer and thinner.
Decent masking tape is a must also, dont try to use normal cream coloured car masking tape it just dont do the job but the tamiya stuff is good so go with that and for big areas use either bob-divleys or parma masking fluid.
There are loads of artist acrylics that you can buy and thin down for practising and also as a top coat for the finished shells, i now use Mars black, permanence AA this acts as a sealer and to back the whole project.
Anything else you want to know just ask matey.....
