Yeah saw this bad boy on ebay afew months back.
Again not really an f1 using that kind of front end as thats what got my custom made cars so much hassle from people.
Great plan though and the new v10 would be a very easy base to breat an f1 car from.... much more so than this.

Still got to appalude the effort and idea.

Now that looks wicked F1 racing on a Mardave budget come on back yard tinklers im sure this could be done. Again why has Mardave not thought of this idea. this only re makes my point of back garden tinklers i for one would love to see it in action.

Mardave used to make f1 cars for those of you who may not b that old or be up on the company history.
But an f1 from the v10 chassis is very easy requiring some body mount mods and trimming of the hs30 alloy chassis and buying some wings and a shell.... Job done Smile

Again i we reliterate that back garden tinklers do more for Mardave than the company themselfs they are set in their ways but what they do need to do is listen to what its customers say and want
Again Mardave f1 now that would be something else racing F1 on a mardave shoe string budget how quick would this class grow massive over night come on gazza Buddy you 2 tinkle about build one show us that it can be done

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Ok guys we have gazza Tommo Buddy Mark myself whats the chances between us all we cannot develop this car further and make it a racer i have a mate who can turn the rear axles so you can fit better rears than what are on this car im up for it anyone else

I'm up for it Smile Smile Smile

I will do what I can and if you could do a page on here just for the setup of a mardave F1 then we can then have a parts list to build them for anyone who wants one with where and how much!!!

ie,

• Bodyshell - ??
• Front wing and rear - ??
• chassis - ??
• battery tray - ??
• rear pod and ball joint etc - ??
• wheels and tyres - ??
etc

Can it not be done in 1/12 ???? or don't they do the wings and body in 1/12?

The whole car is a Mardave V12. . .

it use's all the parts from the V12 the only two things that Matt has done is to Glue plastic tube onto the rear wheels to make it bigger and cut a Chassis to the length of 1/10th

Ok the front wing rear wing and a shell is then all thats needed and 6cell plus electronics

@ Chequered_flag_racing

Glen. . .

Dont hold ya breath mate we asked ages ago about the crap brushless system and why not a proper 13.5 like the Fusion system ( £10 ) cheaper and 90% better

NO JOY

We asked him ages ago about the V10 and bringing it out again he said to busy and then posted will be out soon that was 2yrs ago then on the web site in December posted loads new stuf re out in Jan 2011

and now the V10 is out in June

so dont hold ya breath Glen

@Tomo yea the first Mardave 1/12th electric was an F1 re 1970 circa we all had them James still has one lol!

Right dont get me wrong I love the V12 to bits I will always support it and run one but Mardave since the take over has gone way off track. .

What did it for me was the Brushless system Chris said done extensive testing works fine ?
1st outing at hinckley . . . Total fail. . . so extensive testing my Arse. . .
But dont worry we all help and we would get something for our efforts . . . Still waiting

But thats Chris for you It would be nice to have been asked "Hey Gazza you moan alot try this" and if I test it and pass's then it must be good but no he declined and not spoke to me since

Chris. . . im Still here and still willing to test stuff

Any way we could keep the Dave as is just get a differant chassis made out of GRP and a 1/12th shell made for it and use these rears if there still the same as the old 1/12th Idea

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Above link . . See you cant even help out by linking to the Mardave site it wont let you Evil or Very Mad

A little wider as well

Or do you want a 1/10th version

Dont split an already small class (F1 10th scale) why not use the v12 parts on a 10th chassis????
The V10 chassis template isnt a bad one to use have alook here and you see alot of the parts are the same [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] link to Mardave site he wont allow it .co.uk/img/rckits/exploded2.gif

Edit GazYou cant Link to Mardave he wont let you

You could use a tamiya or 3 racing axle/diff easy enough I checked on my v10 and they fit.
So only the hs30 chassis needs cutting so that it doesnt poke out from under the f1 shell which you can get from places like this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Also wings are easily fitted by using the v10 rear body mount and screwing it into it and then cutting the chaff from around the mount point and the front wing is even simplier drill two 2.5mm holes in the chassis countersink them and you have a standard tamiya/ 3 racing wing mount.

Aframes can be used from the up comming v10 or the existing v12 just use the predrilled holes for v10 mounts and overlay a grp or fibre glass sheet "butterfly" a la corally/kiel and then mount the v12 frames on it.

The butterfly could then be use the lengthen or shorten wheelbase to change handling as could the front track width with differently drilled home made "butterflies".

This is something thats been done already and works very well. It leaves plenty of space for shed engineering too. I will take a car to ardent on the 30th to show whoever maybe interested.

P.s my mardave system that I got from chris to test at the same time worked perfectly and I still use it today Smile

No Gazza you want GRP. . . was talking to Matt about it and it bends ( 1/10th version )

So GRP with a Top Deck based around the V12 cheers
