What are the pros and cons?

Smoother running, higher resolution of gear options.

More risk of tooth damage? More difficult to clean?

48dp runs smoother on my car. I've only run it on a diff thow and the 32dp was fixed but I would still prefer to stick with 48dp.

if I switch to 48dp from 32dp which 48dp pinion sizes would I need to maintain the same rollout?

You will find all this info in

"HOW to set up a Mardave Part 2 "

as there is a gear chart there its in the Mardave section on v12

21/70 =3.33 or 23/72 =3.13 to be exact same.
