Just read the following on a sale item

Motor Pod has been shimmed under Ball Socket

What effect & benefits does it have on the handling if any?

It has the effect of lifting the motor pod up away from the baseplate, hence the motor pod can rock more freely.

With my brushless car on a set up with shims under the motor pod ball, I can get the inside wheel to lift up in the air!!!!!! Not so good, need to play with springs and settings more, I also know some who have this on their cars also put a little bit of felt or something like this along the base plate where the edge of the motor pod touches (each side) this is to help stop the side to side movement of the pod.

The idea of shimming is to get more weight transfer onto the outside wheel when entering a corner, hece more corner speed!

From what I no it just lowers the ride hight on the rear so it would help the handling to a point but as Tomo posted on one of my posts that if you true your rear tyres down a bit more it does the same thing.

I tried it but didn't like it as the car was lower but it made the rear suspention have to much play from side to side.

Just trued my tyres so the rear sat right and the front was a little lower.
