So shiny new and brighter shell done

My Norfolk theme continues with a certain M. Brundell in the drivers seat
I had time yesterday to cut carbon sticker for the wings and main rear wing mount. Can't wait to run it now

Re: F1 Bodyshop - show and tell
Thanks guys
So what I've learned from this shell is:
- Get a sharp new blade to cut liquid mask. A 2009 freebie knife from the IIC goodie bag doesn't give clean lines
- Tamiya Camel Yellow matches these Tamiya wings...but the real car is a lighter yellow.
- Tamiya rear wings fit right on the F109...standard wing mount, no mods required.
- The Tamiya front wings need another hole drilled in them to fit. The Benetton front wing needed the upper nose support cut back to fit the front suspension. However it does fit snug to the front of the chassis and moves less than the F109 front wing.
- The F109 shell looks better if you ignore the cut marks where they sweep up just in front of the side pod.
- Tamiya sticker sets may be expensive....but they are great to apply and mould really well around the lines.
And (I forgot!) I also learned:
- Leaving the body mask over the driver figure means it's matt like real racing overalls. Never liked the shiny look and considered painting it like F1Paintlab does. But this got the job done for a whole lot less work.
- Carbon sticker sheet finshed off the wings and rear wing mount perfectly..too much?
We'll see on Sunday if it goes as good as it looks

Re: F1 Bodyshop - show and tell
I love it!!!!
That shell looks like the 3 racing one?
I ran my retro burger shell and struggled with the wings hitting the deck etc, so i am back on my "modern" shell

Thanks Daz
It is a 3 Racing shell with Tamiya B192 wings front and rear. Worked well although the front wing took some work, and the front nose cone falls in the wrong place for the front body hole. Had to raise the front body mount too...
Will be interesting to see how the front wing runs on carpet.
Nothing wrong with a modern shell

Happy with the Brundell and Benetton look on Sunday
I wondered if the Tamiya rear wing would handle as it's a fair bit smaller than the F109 kit wing. Same for the front wing. Didn't really notice any difference...which is a good thing.
If anything the larger and stiffer front wing seems to have protected the front tyres. I'd got a couple of odd chunks on the inside edges and survived a few crashes without any marks this time.
It was much easier to see as the light level dropped....which is a result The yellow wings made placing the car easier.
So I see a lot of good bodyshells on the UF1 site. The shells at Ardent on Sunday were really cool and very scale. We'd give them a run for their money
