King Pins
Right just done my first meeting with the F1 . . . .
Boy what a disaster the Kingpin with the circlip looks good but after going through 4 E clips I decided it was time to up grade the idea . . .
But to what
Well my first thought was a small bolt with a brass tube to slide up and down on
well I had all of Sunday to think / Plan out what to do and then came my Idea
a bolt with a shank and this was oh so easy well could I find any the size I wanted . . could I hell as like
So into the workshop with a few bolts and my trusty tap and die set and my lathe off I went [/font]
To make this

So with the blank bolt in the lathe ready to turn down
from this ..............................................to this

then with the Die set to put a thread on it

Re: King Pins
Collected mine on Sunday (yet to be fitted)....looks like a good solution to a proplem some people are having with the E-clips!!
I've found some HB low profile nyloc nuts so maybe I can alter the front ride height a little??
ONLY snag/problem I see is that the bottom part of the bolt is round and with new nyloc nuts it's gonna be a lil difficult trying to hold the bottom part with pliers without marking them!!!

Re: King Pins
Yes . . . .
Fitting the new king pins just hold the bottom with long nose pliers the thread takes a MARDAVE wheel nut so not much force is required to hold it

Re: King Pins
you could file a couple of flats on the round part of the new knig pin for an AE spanner etc and drop a similar size washer on before installing the spring to support the spring
