Mardave Circuit car
Well i decided that after taking a closer look that i would buy the circuit car shell and did so on Sunday at ardent so its now sitting in my spare room waiting to see what paint job to do on it.

this is Sam greys car and i must say it looked quite wicked going round the circuit so i think come the 6th of March it will be seen on the final round of the series.
I did look inside Chris Wilkinson's car sorry i did ask to take pics of the inside but Chris says this is still under contruction so i think we will have to wait just a tage longer for the final car. im sure buddy had a peek as well so i bet the shed lights are burning long into the night

Re: Mardave Circuit car
The shell looked nice when sprayed right but I didn't look at the new bits on the car as I forgot till I red this post.
So I'm now waiting for the pics of what they have come up with!!??? Then it's to the shed ;0)

Looks like they've ditched the worlds rear exiting rear body mounts.
Are the red bits on Chris' car 2 rear dampers?

Re: Mardave Circuit car
Yes its a twin damper tube arrangement from a plate across the top of the motor pod to a central double pivot point.
This system has already been used on mardaves mini rs ( I think thats the right denomination)

can't be to easy to get the batteries out though with the battery tray used
Re: Mardave Circuit car
Yes thats the one but chris was using a carbon plate across the top of the motor pod instead of the balljoints screwed into the pod.
Re: Mardave Circuit car
Whoops then seems like this has been done before many moons ago. How about a 1 central pod shock like the 12th's would that be any better

You can tune the tubes with diff oil/lube to alter how they work...ala 12th pan cars
Also if they are for side to side movment I would have thought they would go accross the chassis not down the chassis
Looking at Chris's car with the mods done....I think the carbon plate can ONLY be used if your running the Mtroniks brushless system as a 540 motor sits higher so the carbon plate might not fit???
I like the front end where you could alter the camber though! we'll have to see if it works or not when it's had more testing/released!
Loving the new shell...mines ordered Just need to get a ball diff now and do back to back testing with the solid axle to see which one suits my driving style.....
Oh and got me some of them sexy dished wheels mmmmmmm

Isn't from a corner to the centre Across the chassis....! dont really see the point in them anyway there is so little movement in that direction only from vertical movement of the pod they will have little or no effect what so ever, a tiny amount of damping will be applied the the movement of the rear springs, there is very little if any lateral movement because of the centre pin in the rear pod......... so what else besides them has he done to change the rear of the pod which we cant see from the images to actually make the dampers work to a degree which merits fitting them.
Be constructive what else could be done to the rear pod.

As far as I could see, that was the only thing different at the rear.....but I may have missed something as I only had the car in my mitts for a couple of minutes

Re: Mardave Circuit car
Well in short it's crap as I only recorded one corner of the track I thought the angle would be ok but I was so so so so wrong. I will upload what is ok but it's not caught the race as it needed to be mounted on my head. It will be for the 3rd April.
