3 Dave Death rnd 2

Today saw the 2nd round of Mardaves at Ardent after a long wait for round 2 what worked well last week did not work well this week as the track had no grip if you was first out to practice.
I for one made the choice to go softer tyres dropping to a 42 shore while Simon the snake new nick name for him as all will become clear later on!!

He stayed on the original tyres and after a few laps got heat in them and started to perform well, The old Master Gazza had a few set backs from the word go with smashing his rear pod on lap 1 then gear meshing problems.

There were 2 heats of Mardaves and in the finals to it was A B C everyone seemed to be warm and the pits were nice and warm with the hot air blowers.
The first Final in the c class is were snakey Simon has got his name from Callum Chand on the straight hit the side of Marti’s car both cars coming to rest in the middle of the track.

When another 3 cars came abreast and ploughed full pelt into them me being one of them 2 cars were now sentenced to the dustbin with bent chassis all this was caught on video and when Gazzag up loads it you try and make your mind up.

This must go down as one of the best crashes in the Mardave series me I got away light with a broken wishbone and bent track rod arm Now snakey seeing the carnage calm collect and cool just pottered past the pile up to come 3rd and win a trophies Git!!!!! Well it’s all repairs now till the 2nd Jan when we do battle again

Had a top notch Day running f1 but loved watching the mardaves race all day. Some guys were lucky others were not but hey thats racing.

I had a run of rotten luck all day - left my racing tyres at home, broke the pod after 3 laps of practice, blew a motor and had odd glitching on my radio that only manifested in the well known twilight zone that is right in front of the rostrum!

Finally got it all sorted in the final but was well off the pace all day. Still, the enjoyment of a bit of battling with Callum in both final legs made up for an otherwise 'meh' weekend!

yes you learned not to tanggle with the smashers on the back straight cool calm craft and slip by not even stopping to see if anyone was hurt im glad you got a trophie mate realy as you played the game right and with all the mad dashing around you picked your moment like a true pro and siezed the chance well done mate

Yep, cracking days racing, some had luck and others did not but thats racing! Must say we saw some of the best Mardave racing today, all in the right spirit too fantastic. For me it was a mixed bag, broken rear pod in round one, round two saw me put up a sixteen lapper, and round three was going ok untill I bent a king pin, so I qualified in eleventh place, lined up in fifth place in the B final and finished in fifth place in the first leg, now there is a long story to the next bit which I will tell you about some other time, but out came the V60 speedo in my car and in went a new G28 for leg two of the final, and hey presto an instant improvement of 0.54 of a second per lap! So over 16 laps thats an improvement of more than eight seconds, and Buddy RC will testify to the great tussell we had for the best part of four minuets of the final, end result for me was second place! and overall third in the B final, well pleased

It was also nice to put some faces to some on here, nice people, see you all for round three in January!

Well said Mark i to looking forward to round 3 like you said it was one of the best Mardave racing for some time and i think the 4 car pile up will be a talking point for many weeks to come 2 totaled 1 broken wishbone 1 that got away and do you know what not a swear word or bad feeling was had by anyone who was involved to that Gentlemen i take my hat of to you and myself, I think thats what makes dave racing so good!!!!

As i was one of the unlucky ones in the pile up i can say it was still one of the best days racing ive had in a long time. And it was all taken in good spirit and its surprizing what you can do with super glue and tape and got it running for 2nd final but looking forward to the next round in jan see you all then lee

Dam lol, o well these thing happen the car has been fully re-built, new blue counter sunk chassis servo re-done and a few tweaks that id been meaning to do for quite some time and not got round to now sorted.
Si that is a cracking bit of driving , reactions like a gazelle.......... nice job dude pmsl

i managed to blow a motor after 3 laps lol, it didnt even have time to get warm, they didnt have any in the shop so the guys took one of there rent a car ones and lent me that. thanks chaps
