1s Lipo F1
Has anyone tried running 1s in a F1?? Just thought at 13.5t with 1s might bea good & more reliable option to the 2s G2 for the GP series.

Yawn!
All the current f1 cars and series that race them around the globe use 2s power, keep 1s for 12th scale cars. Yes I know gt use them but many still choose the 17.5 2s gt2 option in hrs aswell

Re: 1s Lipo F1
So why not let the F1's run either 1s-10.5t or 2s-17.5t, then it's easy for a 1/12th driver to have a go with a F1.
Just a thought!

Re: 1s Lipo F1
I think it was some 12th drivers that decided on silvercan for us regular f1 drivers to use in the first place lol.
I would say 21.5 2s to make it slow enuff for begginers as was the original idea behind the gp2 class, but 17.5 2s or 10.5 1s sounds good too but would be too much for begginers as this is what the brca intended the gp2 class to be.
Unfortunatly all of the guys who race f1 on a regular basis and have been regularly turning upto the races have been overlooked as the cars we all own are only legal for gp2 class but we all had 13.5 2s in already on a gentlmans agreement as that was what seemed the limit for the cars around ardent.

Re: 1s Lipo F1
I suppose once there has been a few BRCA meetings the rules will get tweaked to suit more people.
I think there should be scope in the F1 rules for 1s lipos, but you've got to start somewhere.
I know I have a F109 but hate the thought of a brushed motor so have built a F104 exotec to run in the GP1 class, although it doesn't look like I'll make the first meeting on Sunday, which is a shame.

I am exactly the same but I had 2 cars already that I raced regularly so am doing gp2 aswell as gp1 having now bought an exotek same as you to race gp1
Re: 1s Lipo F1
Arnt the exitek's nice?? I have been thinking about making a exotek F104W out of the F109, but I don't think they would let it in the gp2 class lol

Re: 1s Lipo F1
Yeah I have been really impressed by the quality of them, I have got a f103 exotek that I am going to try in gp2 and the f104 narrow for gp1 because then its nearly one set of spares for both cars
Re: 1s Lipo F1
I'm running the RC10r5 rear shock which is nice as I have a RC10r5 & RC12r5.1 too.
It's making me wish I was coming on Sunday even more now!

Re: 1s Lipo F1
The r5 rear centre shock or the damper tube thing? P.s do you ever have issues with the plastic threaded end on the damper?
Re: 1s Lipo F1
The centre shock, so both the side damper & centre shock are AE parts.
The plastic shock end are a bit tricky, they need a lot of care & patience to get them on correctly, they can very easily be fitted crossed threaded & then they fall off!

Yeah I had alittle trouble with mine when I got hit at ardent a couple of weeks back Dom told me they could be abit frustrating so rebuilt it and now its much better.
Re: 1s Lipo F1
1s / 10.5 or 13.5
drivers can use either half saddle pack or dedicated 1s LiPo's.
Might get more buggy drivers interested as they don't need new batteries
10.5 on 'Blinky' esc's
13.5 with TOTF esc's
2s / 10.5 Scary Fast even for indoors even at Ardent. Tried it last year and it's way to quick to be controllable for most.
needs to be 17.5/21.5 for 2s
