15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
What are they?
I asked John on the Ardent wall and he said BRCA, does that mean GP1 & GP2?

Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
I am Running the BRCA GP2
G2 Motor
205mm Width
45mm Tyres
2s Lipo
1050g min weight
I do have a 10.5 i could put in if it was a true open, but 17.5 2s* and 10.5 1s thats like your own rule set that i am not geared for
*this would be GP1 but my F109 is too wide in the BRCA rules to run this
as per these here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
Daz We / I dont know who made them rules but there awfull and hence only a hand full booked in they should have asked some on who runs F1 and it appears that 13.5 and 1s would have been 10 times better and possable more entrys
Hence If more people turn up to this event we hope the BRCA can see what people really want
But at the end of the day its just for fun dont take it to serious as its a fun meting is what Paul planned

Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
so its like a battle atm over whos rules will win?
I think it will give less turn out for both possibly, although the BRCA rules need changing slightly until the series has been supported and got its own comitee its not going change its likely to die away
i will look into the availability of getting a 1s Lipo, what else will i need?
Is there a rule set published anywhere?

Hold ya horse's there Daz . . .there is no battle over rules mate its just a laid back Fun meeting and we are trying to cater for every one but as there are few numbers in the BRCA event then there is something wrong yes
So if this event draws more people then we have found what F1 drivers want
if its the same amount then there is no intrest in F1 would be a good guide

Yeah i know, i am entered for the BRCA
Simon told me there was F1 racing the Sunday following and here i am... I am trying to work out if my car can race
Not wanting to try and stir up trouble its just an observation from someone new back into the sport, i got my F109 about 3-4months ago

Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
I know that me nick and dez etc all have been racing f1's for a year or two now and we came to 17.5 or 13.5 2s was plenty fast enough.
If it goes 13.5 1s for f1 I wont bother racing as its as slow as 2s with a G2 and f1 should be fast like the real thing.
I would like to be able to run my car I used for ardents winter series with its 2s and mardave g2 brushless in but dont mind if it went 17.5 or 21.5 even on 2s lipo.
Those who ran in the winter series all ended up exactly the same speed down the straight and it needed skill to handle the car whereas g2 silvercan and 13.5 1s in a car with the grip and tyre size of a wide f1 doesnt need any such ability and the person who wins will not be nessercarily the best driver but the driver with a reasonable amount of skill and the fastest silvercan.
For example anybody can make 0.4 on someone down the straight if they have a faster car in a straightline then even if they lose 0.3 thorugh the other 3/4 of the track in laptime then they will still be ahead and that to me puts too much emphasis on motor prep than driver/setup skill.
A control motor is a good idea but a brushless one would be alot better, I am not up for spending £9.95 a run on getting the best out of a silvercan for each race or even £9.95 each meeting is a pee take when I can get a sealed brushless 17.5 speed passion f1 motor for £14 that will last me 2 years.
Even my mardave brushless I use in my f1 is perfect it was one of the first systems chris sent out and its still going strong and has never let me down over 4 years of racing it nearly every week of plug and play. This is why I cant justify to myself spending what is required on racing silvercan f1 each week, which sucks because I love f1 racing and have enjoyed it more than any other class and the cars look stunning going round.

Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
myself and 3 others will do the f1 meets if you run better rules than the brca ones, ie F1 can run 10.5 and 1s or 17.5 and 2s
just awaiting my car so carnt make 1st one

Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
After today me and all the f1 faithfull have kinda agreed to go brushless 2s for next weekend. All power will be 2s I think as the weight difference is a pain in the ass to police.
Re: 15th MAY @ Ardent F1 rules
So going 17.5 2S? I will get a motor this week
