£15.00
Well Ardent have set the price of £15 for each round of the winter series. quite a hike up on the price i for one will not be doing this series at £15.00 plus petrol plus food works out to be a very exspensive day. so i will now just do big race sundays along with a few of the other Mardave guys.
Re: £15.00
holy mother, so for 2 classes thats over £20, oh well can someone remove my post about lift help.....there is no way i am paying over £130 to race at 1 meeting!!
Re: £15.00
wow thats abit excesive even if it is for such a good track but the 2WD guys basically just got a standered race meeting and nothing more last year and for that reason i wont be attending either

Re: £15.00
It does seem a high price for what will be a normal race meet for the 2wd guys and I know afew guys felt peed off funding the tc extraverganza meetings with the trophy girls etc when the 2wd events were just like a club meet.
I was looking forward to the winter series but I think I will just attend the normal meets for the normal race fee unless the 2wd events have something worth my £15.

All prices are going up, time for a rethink about continuing in this hobby as its getting more expensive all the time.

im not goign to say a rethink as i do love this hobby, just a change in venue. i think for winter ill keep sundays for offroad and mid week for indoor at other clubs.

Re: £15.00
MOTOR ARENA closed due to to high a price come on John open your eyes
So lets say £20 in petrol / diesel £15 to race then say £8 on drink and a breakfast some tyres if you chunck any this has now run into a small fortune for a days racing
When the winter season starts I will do the tuesday and friday meetings

Re: £15.00
i agree that it does put racing into question, proper annoyed, £20 fuel, £15 race fee, £5 brekkie, drinks etc, i know that £4 difference on the current costs but it soon add's up.
John i have loved the summer series but im gonna have to question if i can afford to continue, not to mention a member or 2 who seems hell bent on fucking up my day with his piss poor driving style (but thats a different story!)
back to short course me thinks???

Re: £15.00
lol....
well as a previous event organiser (nothing to do with RC) you can not host or start to plan for an event without numbers, and the best way to do that is to offer an incentive to book in advance, it makes sense, this way trophys can be organised, the day can be planned and life is great.
I agree with this move from John, also the F1 BRCA was £15 and that was advance payment ONLY!

•More Trophies Top 20% in each class get end of series trophies donated by Sponsors

£15 brca f1 / gt . . . hence thats why I did not go way over the top

I think you know what i mean about the planning and edit!
Well i will be a paying a tenner as i will be booking well in advance (ie sunday), maybe its because i am use to shows at £20 a head on the day and £15 before hand that actually it doesnt seem that bad

Re: £15.00
Big shame about the price increase as Ive been off the racing lately due to money and time but £15 is way to much for 20mins of racing track time :0(
Tuesdays will be the only ones I will be doing and even then I can only do a handful a year due to work. Hope all me buds will be there next time I'm there as nobody was the last 2 times I've been

alternatives
well £15 is a bit high for me so think i will be looking at staffords carpet masters and see if he will put a heat on for mardave brushless or gt car was looking forward to winter series but with the price of traveling and bits and bobs as gazza said why not book in and pay on day if you have booked in and dont turn up or let john know before you pay full price next time this way still know how many and if you turn up and not prebooked you pay 15 this way it may not tun drivers off doing it

Re: £15.00
I can understand why its £15, but like as been said the last series did seem more aimed at the TC guys, admittedly there are more of them, and the 2WD section just to be tolerated with no special emphasis regards the event. It would be nice if I could afford to book in August but as I cannot, it looks like I'll be heading back to Stocksbridge for their series, £6 per round. I would normally run 2 classes, 1/12th & Mini, which would have been expensive anyway, but as the Mini is to be unlimited there wouldn't be much point, I only run it as stock, so with the Xevo & BL version it would be pointless anyway.
Stocksbridge will run Tc, 1/12th & Mini, if you have a word with the guy who runs it, he may include Mardave or F1 too, though nobody ever runs them on a club day.

Re: £15.00
I have taken your comments on board and as I am (believe it or not) a human being who has ALWAYS listened to what my fellow racers want I have decided to reduce the price in the 2WD events to £10 on the day and £8 if you book and pay in advance in August that's £56 for 7 days and 56 hours of RC racing!! . (If you have already booked in and paid I will refund the difference).
Remember i'm a racer, doing this as a hobby for others to enjoy, i'm not a cold character with an ego, you can always talk to me, putting on an event like this is a massive deal for one person to organise and promote and you know sometimes you can get things wrong.
I thank Neil for bringing this to my attention earlier today.
Hope you now join us, remember if you want to race then please at least book in and select pay on the day (especially all you that refuse to use Paypal - see this option was done JUST FOR YOU, so I do listen :-) that way we can coordinate heats and pre-book drivers in.
Happy Racing.
John.
