John Robson indicates

This year we are trying a different qualifying format instead of FTD determining your final the best points out of your 3 qualifying rounds will be added together to determine your final placing.

Re: Carpet Masters F1 Class
I'll have to watch the videos later, as the wi-fi on the train can't cope...
Remember racing in the Stafford hall what must be many years ago. A winter Touring Car meeting (I know...), and quickly learned you needed a lot of steering!
Not see JR in ages...say hi from Fran and I when you next see him
The old Stafford outdoor track has a lot more memories. First met Kris Kennedy there when he raced F1s ("Club Pacific Racing") - he happened to pit next to me, and we had a great day at what I assume was a Eurocup meeting. A very wet Eurocup in 1993 when I first beat Ishy as his car veered off into a tent! Some cracking FWD racing with I think the FF01s (but could have been Minis...now they were fun).
And a fine TQ and final win over Andy Moore at a BTCC meeting (now that WAS a long time ago....and yes I still have that shell and car )
I also remember a scale Tamiya rallycross meeting too...part tarmac and part grass.
Happy days

Re: Carpet Masters F1 Class
My Exo was handling really bad, went from 3rd to first by the first hair pin, Nick Turner put a great move on at about 15seconds when i run wide, but i powered back past with my Viper powerplant down the short straight, Lead then until just after 4 minutes when a fast chasing Simon Taylor forced me into an unusual mistake. Great F1 racing Stafford RCMCC (Radio Controlled Model Car Club )
(All of the fast cars were running to current BRCA Retro Rules)
I think the next round clashes with Ardent, but after that... I am in for the rest...

Carpet Maters 4th December
Today was the 2nd round of the Carpet Masters, there was a heats for F1s and 13.5 and 17.5 touring cars. 4 rounds of qualifying and 2 finals.
I was racing the F-ONE which seems to be most suited to the Stafford track, with a Thunder Power 21.5 motor
Top qualified with a 32/303 , there was also good runs for Rob Jones and Lewis Taylor who also was running the Thunder Power motor .
There was a very close race in the 13.5 class between Andy Robson and Jamie Beasley , with Jamie just holding on for the victory, his ride was Awesomatic T/C
The final for 17.5 class was also close between Mark Richards and David Hough with Mark taking the win.

Carpet Masters F1 report
Today was the 3rd round of the Carpet Master at Stafford, we had the regular F1 drivers turn out. In the first round it myself and Lewis who set the pace on 28 laps. 2nd round i managed a 29 laps with improvement for Rob Jones, Alistair King and Paul Leavsley. In round 3 ,i had a tyre change as the tyre diameter was to small and affecting the ride height on the chassis, there was a improvement again with a 31/309 . In round 4 Rob was unlucky in that a motor wire detached and blow the speedo and then had to sit out the Finals shame !.
Finals results went 1st Nick, 2nd Lewis and 3rd went to Paul Leavsley
The new Team Powers 21.5 superlite motor ran perfectly well, the F1 was even more nimble in and out of the corners [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It's a shame there was not more F1 drivers wanting to race.
