Re: Contact Tyres for Mardaves
That's interesting.
I'm not that fussed about the style of the rims to be honest - as long as the spokes support the body of the wheel sufficiently and they are not too 'floppy' that's good with me. It would also be nice to see some in grey plastic for a bit of a change rather than just the white.
What I do really like though is the shore ratings for front and rear tire compounds. With numbers (which I Like) you know where you are and can therefore make realistic predictions on what each compound might handle like. Assuming that Schumacher have a good, reliable supplier of rubber and that batches don't vary too much we should have an interesting alternative to experiment with.
A couple of questions though...
Does anyone know how the different shore ratings translate into the colours we use now? What shore is equivalent to a Pink Medium / Purple / SE / JAP Medium?
Also, does anyone know the composition of the rubber - how much natural / synthetic is used in the blend? Would one of these in 44 Shore be equal to a JAP 44?

Yes mate I have it here its made up of natural rubber about 45% and then 45% of synthetic and 10% of glue but they wont tell me what glue it is.
I'm not sure if it's flour and water based but my guess would be B&Q or even Wilkinson's own brand there where even rumours that it could be good ole fashion evo stick but untill yo go to a chemist to comfirm this im sorry to say 100% of the readers have 100% no idea and dont care
Ok this one you will have to contact the Supplyer's and you already know the answer to that . . . NO
No one will tell you there make up Jimbo thats like asking for the recipe for coka cola Mate

Some one posted a colour chart and I used it to translate to the Daves but alas I found it out to be so differant its not worth going into colours and shore rating differ from manufature and its a waste of time I use my trusty shore meter even new tyres you buy possable say 44 and end up being 42 or 46 so its just a rough guess
Rears are always (99%) UFRA Pink medium or 54P's and they shore out at 38 to 40 from NEW. . . .
once you use additive they will start to go softer its that simple
Soft - Rears
UFRA SE Medium
UFRA Pink Soft
UFRA Pink medium <<<<< shore out at 38-40
UFRA Pink Purple
UFRA Jap soft
UFRA Jap mediun
Hard - Rears
Soft- Front
UFRA 38 Shore
UFRA 40 Shore
UFRA 42 Shore
UFRA 44 Shore
UFRA 46 Shore
UFRA 48 Shore
UFRA 50 Shore
UFRA 52 Shore
UFRA 55 Shore
Hard - Front

Re: Contact Tyres for Mardaves
If anyone know's Ben or Chris ask them to respond
Now ready the new Superstox/Mardave circuit and Oval pre glued tyres line. Contact RC has put in a great deal of development time to provide the best tyre balance and traction. With help from our drivers Ben Harding, World Champion in the Stock oval class and former Mardave British Champion Chris Ashton. Contact 1/12 Superstox/Mardave tyres come pre glued on Bearing (B/B) and no Bearing rims (std).

How will the performance be diffrent ???
Re: Contact Tyres for Mardaves
Same as full size cars ?
If lets say a mini and a Mclaren had the same wheel base / track etc would you use mini tyrs on it ?
What im saying is Lets say Chris's shuy car ran 44 fronts well that could be no good for a dave and you would need say 48's so asking Chris what works on the Schimacher car MAY not work on a Dave
Thats it Jay really

Re: Contact Tyres for Mardaves
I have a list of numbers too colors best give me a call. Real shame people tell me they only work with additive so oval guys won't be happy. And yes one broken rim last night. One other point bloody expensive
Re: Contact Tyres for Mardaves
Glued and trued on rims £6 to £7. . . . about a £1 cheaper and trued and glued so yea £1 cheaper
