13.5 Brushless Gearing???? HELP
Right im getting my mardave ready to race at marititme ,
Going to run LRP Sphere esc with a Novak ballistic 13.5 as its what i have left from an old TC and i have some sets of 4cell 4600mah
Where do i start with gearing/Rollout ?
What spur gears and pinions will i need?
Sorry if this is going over old ground but if it is could point me in the direction of the thread.

Hmmm The norm really is G2 ( Brushed Motor ) and 4 cells
13.5 brushless is really meant for 1s LiPo
as per what we are trying to get into the practice of the Mardaves here at Hinckley and at Ardent

Mardave Stock
•Standard G2 motor only.
•Maximum of 4 cell NiMHs allowed
•Bearings allowed all round and rear Diffs are allowed
•Any reversible speedo below £69 allowed
Mardave Brushless Stock Lipo
•As above but any 13.5 brushless motor and speedo
•Maximum 1 cell lipo allowed
•Bearings allowed all round and rear Diffs are allowed
Gearing is all down to track size as the guys will tell you but if you run that combo at your club see what they are using but if motor is hot then down a pinion . . .
As I have had motors hot and Blown them up so start with a 50/15 and keep your eye on the motor / ESC temp other wise its BOOOOMMMM

what range of gearing would be used with 13.5 lipo?
Lipo is far les hassle so i will try and get a 1s lipo in there!

Cant say to much on this as I dont wont the blame of your system going BANG but rule of thumb is thus
1. If motor hot and ESC cold . . . . . . . down a pinion
2. If motor cool and ESC hot / warm. . . up a pinion
3. if motor and ESC are both warm STOP thats the setting for that track
put it on track run it hard as tho you are in a Final after say 3 minutes check temp of motor / esc
if both cool / warm then OK
if its any of above ( 1. 2. ) then adjust gears acccodingly
if using LiPo dont forget the voltage booster for the Rx

How much lighter is a 1s lipo than 4 cells?
if its much lighter is it worth going for softer springs or possibly adding any weight? (in the front or back?)

About 60grams I think place weights where u need them so if you want front end grip . . . .
