Re: something a little different
Sweet Gaz i thought you'd be up for it lol.... cos your an RC nut like me, I'm gona have a go at that F22 i think nice and big so should be stable may need a little help with the flying if your up for it matey I'm great in the air just the landing all ways seems to get me.
Where do you get your Depron from as im gona need some 6mm to get this build started, also what glue have you used on yours and what are my options where glue is concerned, lightest and strongest against using cyno or not what your views mate as you have done this before with foam and im a foam virgin.
Is the any biplane plans around for a foam build i have looked but cant find anything, i'd love to build a Christian eagle.
Paul can there be a page on your site for anything RC related so we can talk plans and boats ..... or anything else RC.......?

6mm Depron you can use NORMAL hobby super glue . . I use UHU POR again at Tonys also they now stock EPP
but standard foam you need foam safe super glue

Hey that looks pretty good! Better than FMS anyway! Anybody else here on Phoenix? I'm QuackingPlums there too if u fancy a bit of online air combat!
Gazza I didn't know you were a plane nut too! My winter project is a new pusher jet built for speed. HK has had my esc/motor combo on back order for months now but I've got all the cf tubing ready to brace the air frame (yes, it's a foamie!) and some balsa/ply for my new elevons.
It's gonna be wicked fast - I'm aiming for 100mph on 3S with unlimited (as far as my poor eyesight will allow!) vertical climb...

Re: something a little different
If it's anything like FMS then you will need to setup your tx as a virtual joystick - PPJoy or SmartPropoPlus are tools I had working with FMS before I bought Phoenix. Then all you need is a mono 3.5" audio cable - for the DX6i at least.

Re: something a little different
Yea the Phoenix is a dedicated lead. . . the others I have no idea how you would wire a USB to mono ? as I have not looked into it I use my Phoenix lead all the time . . .
But here is a cheap one from Tonys models in Leicester

Re: something a little different
It supports 'any pc joystick' and the two utilities I mentioned will setup a virtual joystick using your radio.
Have you ever plugged some headphones into your trainer socket? It just sounds like white noise but you can hear the effect of moving the sticks. If you get a 3.5" mono to mono lead (or use the buddy lead if you have one) then you can just plug it into the mic input of your pc. The utils I mentioned take that signal and convert it to joystick movements. Clever, eh?
I had this working in FMS before I got Phoenix. I will try it with this new sim to see if it works the same if you like. Won't be tonight though - I'm on a 5hr train journey home from hell...

Re: something a little different
Wow been collecting knowledge all day lol, i have the file that converts the output of my radio to the correct thing for the sim some sort of fanciful audio ttl converter me thinks (clever small and fast program) lets you see it all going on as well so be usfull for checking the radio from time to time.
Also got the audio spectrum analyser to check the wave forms to make sure there at the right level and not over driving the input, fewwwwww could of just brought a flight sim but what would be the fun in that lol.
Ill try and get it running in the next few days and let you know how it's going if i can pull myself away from the computer flying things around on the giant plasma in my front room pmsl going to be fun
And on the winter /spring thing .......... i do things v e r y s l o w l e y ......>
