Re: something a little different
Well if you get with drawl symptons
And I still have a Kyosho f16 to build as well the Mrs bought me that one 2years ago LOL

It would be nice to compare the Phase 3 one as thats an all moving tail plave and the Kysho is just a standard evevator set up ( both need Mixing via TX )

I got rid of a few last year when the car bug got me again......why did i get rid of them silly me
O well i should have all the bits in the next few weeks to start the build so hopefully will be in the air by feb woohoo ( that's if my knee hasn't blown out again) but that's another story hoping it will settle down again.

Re: something a little different
Well some of you have wondered where i have been and what i have been up to, i think this should answer the question.......lol
Seriously over powered, should do vertical climb without a problem 11.1v with a 2048 and a 30A ESC, not flown yet as i have issues with the radio gear but ill get that sorted in the next few days and take her for a maiden flight.
She needs some paint to so i know which way up she is LoL

Re: something a little different
Hi Gazz, i would very much appreciate a hand matey, i need to sort the radio gear out to find out why its playing up but as soon as i have sorted it she is good to go.
Yes the control surfaces are huge so im gona set them as per the destructions and then use the rates to half them at least still leaving me the choice of massive movement once im used to flying it, i like to have a fast role rate once its up in the air so rates to get it off the ground and when in free space flick the switch.
I still need to check the CG and stiffen up the motor mount because i dont think its stiff enough from what they say it should be so ill reinforce it a little but everything else is golden quite a nice easy build as it goes they go together easier then i thought it would.
I'll give it a lick of paint some time today if i get a chance and sand the edges just so it looks a little better.
I found an F22 for the flight sim im using and ive put in loads of hours flying it on there so if she handles like she does on the sim it should be a walk in the park ....lol or a fly at least, and the thrust from the motor and prop im using is massive so high Alfa should be a breeze.
Ill get it all sorted over the next few days dont want to rush it and forget something then when your free to give me a hand we can meet up and give her a maiden.
I really appreciate the offer of help matey thanks.
Marti.

Right first HOLD off on the paint . . .
Maiden it first . . .
then paint it . .
Well thats what most of us do just in case you need to make ajustments and if it does go in
So whats up with the Radio gear are you using Spek Dx6i

Re: something a little different
ill hold of the paint then.
The radio gear was modified to be use on RC cars and the sticks were switched round so i need to switch them back, at the moment the elevator is the ailerons and vis versa so a little strange but ill get round to it soon.

No that's the thing it was a straight swap left to right as far as i know but something strange happens when you do that it seems, ill swap it back and see how it goes if that dont sort it ill take the 2.4 out and put 35Mhz in.

Re: something a little different
It all depends if you have the radio gear or not matey, if you do then for the plane i just built your looking at about £90 that's for the motor ESC servos depron glue carbon spars and battery's, if you need to buy radio gear add £160 the DX6i is about the minimum required and the best cheap radio out there with all the features you will need like mixing but you could spend upto £1500 just for the radio if you wanted the best LoL.
Planes do look fun and they are but make sure you have someone that can teach you to fly and start with a trainer " NOT A JET " or aerobatic model it will last about 10 seconds before its in a million pieces, get an RC flight simulator and put in lots of hours on that with loads of different aircraft and preferably the plane you are going to build and fly that way you have a real good head start when you go to the field for a fly and kind of know what the plane is going to handle like.
Dont go out and buy the nicest looking thing out there because it looks the mutts nuts and can do all the tricks in the book, remember you still have to control and fly it, it doesn't do it it's self, I've had loads of planes and have crashed all of them bar 2 at some point manly because i wanted the nicest looking thing i could get for the money................. DONT DO IT... start with a trainer and work up to a more aerobatic model then you will have some real fun ...and the sky's the limit.
This is general information and apply s to anyone thinking of getting an RC aircraft.

Yea as per Marti . . .
DONT BUY A JET
I have been flying model planes on and off since I was 16. . . . wow and im 50 now LOL
Please all my jets EDF ( electric ducted fans ) are hard to fly as they can stall at low speeds. . .
Any way if any one is intrested in Model plane's then get this. ..
Any one who can drive a car can just about fly this I kid you not
its called a Condor

Re: something a little different
As per Gaz that is a nice stable easy to fly plane and you will still get quite a buzz flying it, long flight times and the battery's are cheap so you could buy a few of them maybe 4 or 5 for the same price as 1 big lipo..........! and that would give you loads of air time up the field then once you have mastered that you can move on to something a little harder to fly, start at the beginning learn with something simple and then move on do not try to jump the gun and then you will have loads of fun with your new found interest in model planes.
Cheers for the vid Gaz, im taking mum shopping today but when i get back later ill take mine apart and check it ...

Re: something a little different
All done and checked Gazz nice one matey the right hand stick had been flipped 90deg for god know what reason but its all sorted now, omg done some power tests and trimmed it as best as i can tell while in a tail hover using my hand to steady it, it will pull straight out of my hand and head for the ceiling on full throttle PMSL.
Getting nervous now nearly time for the maiden just need to give the radio a new set of cells and charge the plane cells and she is good to go matey, let me know when you have some free time for her first flight.

You are more then welcome to pop over to Leicester and go to my own Private site
What cells you got ?
How many packs ?
warm coat and sunglass's ( stop your eyes from running due to wind )
