Sounds like a plan gazza. I would get the g2 brushless but not up to scratch yet with the STD setup.

How much quicker a lap is a STD g2 motor 4 cell and the 13.5 brushless lipo if you were to drive both on the track?

Are we talking 2-4 seconds a lap?

I will run my dave system till it goes pop then I may spend money to replace it but as the national rules cater for the dave system and NOT the 13.5 1s class.

The 13.5 1s is a match for a G2 on cells as Gazza has stated on afew occasions so wy not run them together?
The dave brushless IS a match for a 10.5 as I have tried both back to back in my car and there has been 0.1 difference in lap time between the two so why not let them run together for those who enjoy abit of speed?

It doesnt need to be complicated but remember rarely is a race won with the mot power its how you use it that counts, just see how the red bulls are the quickest things on track even with the renault engine. Also if you watch a national A-final in almost any class of our sport then you will see the A-final cars are often noticably slower down the straights than the b-final guys but are driven with more accuracy and higher corner speeds aided by the lower entry speeds.

So why not let the racers who enjoy abit of speed enjoy it and so what if you break more parts it will keep the shop and therefore the club running and the parts only cost pence anyway Smile its why I love mardaves.
Maybe I could run with my dave system but not run for points or trophies etc?????

Not wanting to start a debate really but just wanted to put it out there and see what the forum makes of it Smile

Is this one of these "cheap to run classes" that you need to buy new batteries or motors to enter anything except a club meet???

@rich67 . . . No its a G2 motor standard 4cell mardave class ( known as STOCK ) and a 13.5 1s Lipo class which is the same as the stock but uses a 13.5 brushless and 1s LiPo

Gazza the mardave national circuit serried is run by the brca so the rules are the brca rules. I don't think they have been put into the handbook yet though and the tyre additive rule is a rubbish one left over from the oval section. Have alook at the circuit series links in the mardave section for more info. I don't mind not running for points or whatever just so I can use the same equipment as I do for the national circuit series. If John has a full meeting already then more class separation is not going to help make his life easier so I will just stick to f1 if there is enough f1s to race

Tomo there is no v12 circuit MARDAVE class by the BRCA ( as yet ) oval yes
We looked into this at the start at the Hinckley club and my 13.5 Li Po class and they were telling me the BRCA rules so I got my hand book and said

"show me"

Below is the current BRCA sections

1:12th Scale Electric Circuit
Touring Cars
1:10th I.C. Circuit
1:8th Scale I.C. Circuit
Large Scale I.C.

1:10th Electric Off Road
Rallycross
Large Scale Off-road

Oval - Top Stox
Oval - Hot Rods
1:12 Electric Oval

Bikes

Guess what I won lol!

the rules on the Mardave site are . . . .

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]ProposedV12NationalSeriesBRCARules.pdf

I point out the Proposed bit as this is on the Mardave site and NOT the BRCA site so as its a proposal only I would DEFFO run additive my self as the rules are a proposal only and there is nothing they can do about it unless you signed the agrement to the fact you would run to the mardave Proposal rules ?

Having said that I would gladley ask the Brca can we have a Mardave on road circuit section and you know whats gonna happen then

1 chairmen
2 sectatary
3 treasure
4 committie

Now who wants to fill the posts

rules to be put forward etc

My rules are simple . . . I propose 3 class's

1 stock class ( every one who has bought a kit ) G2 motor 4 cell ESC under £69 or wiper board

2 as above but 13.5 1s LiPo Max £150 speedo

3 as above but Mardave brushless OR 10.5 1s lipo or 4cell open ESC

Tyres & bodyshell's

Only Mardave tyres allowed only mardave / kamtec shells allowed NO 1/12th pan car shells
additive is alowed as well as a Mardave diff all ESC must have reverse

Gazza Robbie Kerr who heads up the mardave circuit series is a brca official and we use the brca computer system at the meets but yes it's not in the handbook. So I think maybe its a test season for it before its put into the handbook. The rules were proposed but I am told by the guy who runs Hereford that all clubs that agreed to host the circuit series were sent a copy of the rules and agreed to the rules so they went from being proposed to in use. Asoon as the rules were used they became the current rules. Ardent would have been the exception due to the fact they were a last minute replacement for Dudley and so wouldnt have been part of the initial decision making.
Although I TOTALLY agree with you mate the tyre additive rule is a dumb one and needs to be changed.
But no turbo on speedos will be impossible to enforce so best to allow it.

uop101 is that a rc f1 in your avatar? if so its stunning, bring it down to the track Very Happy
