Lipo Virgin
With all this talk of Lipo's, what cells are people using? And does everyone get away with one pack / cell for an evening? How long do they take to charge compared to nimhs?

Re: Lipo Virgin
I have had mine around 18 months I think. . .
Its the SMC 4900 I just use the 1 pack ( if you can call it a Pack LOL ) as soon as I finish my heat its back on charge never warm or hot just charge at 1C takes about 30 mins to charge to full capacity never had any problems
so yea 1 pack and its still going strong when on charge it puts back in around 1495 so it does not use much

Re: Lipo Virgin
Alright Ben, yeah it's Mark. Would like to go the low maintenance route of Lipo but don't fully understand them yet. Want to stick with Dave system though, even if I am the only one! As yet it's never missed a beat.

Make sure the mTroniks systems will run a 1s lipo and dont forget you'll need a booster or receiver pack as well

Re: Lipo Virgin
Yep the specs are good plus NO need for a booster as you say
I worked out that if I bought a half decent second hand speedo and booster (mark jordan one) then I'd be looking at over £100 for the 2 items and this speedo is only around £90 new result me thinks lol gonna do some more digging around 1st and read up on it

Hello mate, I'm pretty sure the speedo will run 1s as there's a booster on the Mardave site, but will have a root through the details. It has a lipo setting on the pit card for the shut off. Not a bad price on those cells.

I know it's a total bummer! But I may still go for it!
Im trying to see if there is any way of changing the software to a version that doesn't include the turbo & boost but still able to use the booster for 1s lipo!! If not then I'll eiher not run at ardent or run but have no points!

Re: Lipo Virgin
maybe if you can prove its turned off on the programming card.... show the scrutineer before you start racing and allow a random check during the day to make sure you haven't modified the setup.

Re: Lipo Virgin
Be carefull guys . . . .
My Tekin with turbo and boost off is slower than a G2 let alone a brushless . . .
I need about 15 boost and 10 turbo to be the same as James with a stock Fusion system . . .
So even I will be looking for a good ESC in STOCK mode
