Well its back to Ardent and as a keen F1 fanatic and of course MEGA DAVE driver ( To you newcomers out there that’s my altered Mardave like Cobra battery holder etc )

I arrived early as this is normally a well attended meeting and I was not wrong there was a few mixed heats like Mardave’s and Tamiya Mini’s in a heat and GT10’s and a few F1’s in a heat these were the over spill . . .

So we have all booked in and 10 full heats ……..

So I was to be in HEAT 1 of the Mardave’s along with HEAT 10 for the F1

WOW another back to back run with F1 then the Dave could I cope . . .

Well with my new out tuned diff in place I was hoping to have a good run but again I was to be proved wrong . . .

Still chewing up spur gears and a new one fitted ready to do battle but with a rear end shunt and my back playing up I had to pass on running either the Mardave or the F1 as standing up to long does me in . . .

Well as its chewing gears I will fit a STEEL axle see if that cures it and sit this heat and final out Pity cause I really do love the F1

Hi gazza just a thought. With direct drive cars the carbon axles are so tough that when they get a big knock it can even bend the armature of the motor.
I had this happen and was stripping spurs all the time till I checked the armature and I was shocked when i saw it had bent.
Just a thought.

I had a spur strip the last time I was at Ardent.....and still don't know how it happened Rolling Eyes

Gutted I wasn't there on Sunday, looks like they had a BIG turn out this time with 132 ish drivers Shocked

Just in the middle of trying to change my motor and lipo to a 13.5 and 2s as I seem to loose a lot on the straight and a lil poke in the corners, and I've turned the Tekin up as much as I dare to lol

Gotta try and get some other foams, may try the Gecko's as I used these for the 12th and worked fairly well, any other makes to think about??

HI to all F1 drivers/owners would love to have some f1's or even gt's to run against at Ardent this sunday.

Thats what that thing was on ya sun glasses!! I noticed it when you was racing the Dave!

Sounds to me like your diff is slipping quiet badly Gazza, cos when you nail the throttle it aint moving very quick and its making a right noise!

I had some good close racing at that meeting Very Happy And I actually won the meeting, which surprised me loads! Shocked

Yeah I saw you did well Smile
Think your fastest lap was 12.37 or something similar and you had the fastest single lap out of the f1's so when I go tomorrow I will have some comparison with the new track layout and something to aim for Smile

I liked the last layout aswell. Was hoping to have my new f1 finished for tomorrow but just too much left to do on it and I dont want to rush it so it will be the old Tamiya again Smile
My names Tom Hampson or TOMO to all who know me through racing.

Just hope there are some other f1's there for me to race Smile

I have been making some of my own for alittle while. Tomorrow I will be using my old f103 with lipo and mardave motor, it goes ok but doesnt suit me to well.
The next car I shall be trying is very similar to the f103 but has a much more upto date front end and new rear assembly and the battery mounted down the centre like with a similar weight distrubution to my gen x 10.

Wow had a crappy day at ardent. My f1 was all over the shop even after two rebuilds still no better only managed a 11.97 with the tamiya then gave up through frustration and got my usually slower world gt out and managed a 11.83 with no set up and on chunked tyres with a slower motor Sad
Oh well one of those days Smile

Huge mention must go to john who I watched help a kid and his dad all day even though he still had the whole meeting to run etc, its great to see and the kids dad was asking me about f1's for himself all day so another one to the ranks hopefully.

P.s if anyone else has been having issues with what seems like tweak on the tight left hand turns at ardent let me know so I know for sure whether its my car or not as there wasnt any other f1's there today for me to compare against.
