Hi mate, the motor would be ok but never touch any lrp or nosram A.I speedos witha barge poll. they will go wrong for certain and I dont know anyone who has had one over 4 months without it stopping working or constantly swapping reverse for forwards.

ahhh, the nosram A.I series,
I think there the only esc's ive set on fire more than m-tronics Shocked
The motors arent that bad as a budget motor.
hpi have now brough out there new motors which are very good as have seen them in testing for months,
And only for £53

Ok thats a no no for that one.

I have contacted core rc to check if the rx will run on 3.7v as i will not be using a seperate booster and they say it will work fine.
Also checked the mrt transponder and it will run on 2.6v so 3.7 is ok YaY.

Im likeing the look of the hoddywing 1s esc at £90 as it has the booster built in so no need to worry for the pt or rx, and it looks sweet in blue Rolling Eyes
Only thing is im finding it hard to find a supplier that has a blue one in stock.

I think I'm in love. But I can't find one for sale in this country? Will be trying my local rc shop to see if he can get one for me.

theyre the rage in 12th wayne,
I plan on getting one for next season just because there so cheap,
At the moment im using a tekin which is £140 new and a £40 booster, they are half the price,
And prefered on performance by many drivers.

Can it not be turned off?

I've looked at the list of what it does and i can't see where it's says it's got a turbo?

Does this mean I can't get it to enter ardent races?

It has turbo curtiousy of a software update.
The brushless class at ardent I believe is non turbo for the 13.5 class you would have to run in mad Dave class with this speedo I think.

its a no no for dave racing completely mate, i was looking at getting it but cant use it anywhere and the new rules dont allow it, your best bet is the GTB2 like what gazz has and neil and myself.

Why is it a no no for the hoddywing 1s as you dont have to use the turbo? As this is made for 1s lipo then surly it should be allowed?

THE GTB 2 ESC DOES SEEM TO WORK ON A 1S LIPO WITH NO BOOSTER BUT IT SHOULDNT REALY SHOULD IT? if and when you loose signal and all hell breaks loose then what happens then? oh yes got to put a booster on so more money spent.

I have looked on the site for the rules but not found them, so my question is who has the say if i cant use this esc in brushless mardave races? As i think this esc is perfect and has the booster built in and the speck is very good and the price is very very good.

Also if i was to use it and people started moaning "his car is fast" "thats not fair" then who will stop me as the std G2 is by far a p**s take as some of the cars are way to fast and nobody checks them or stops them??????

Wayne sorry mate but the ESC isn't aloud, i also wanted to buy that one but have had to go for the gtb2.

The GTB2 does state it is 1s and 2s compatible and does seem to work very well for Gazza anyway, if it does turn out that i need a booster because im using a stupid servo (which i am) then ill get a booster, remember i could stay with brushed no one is forcing me or you or anyone else to change over, but if your going to change over you must stay within the rules, as must i.

Marti until such times that the BRCA adopt them then and only then can these be inforced!!!! not just a few guys who have come up with the rules they need to go before the BRCA for all we know they could tell us to shove it!!!!!!

Well to be fair I am being pushed out of brushed as nobody is checking the cars and it is crystal clear that it's not a mached race as in the vid I've done shows a crash at the end and I've slowed it down to see better that I miss the crash and take the corrner with speed then the car stationery takes of and beats me to the next corrner??? now that had shed loads more torque than normal?

I for one never saw one single car being checked and after the races I did there was only my car and one other on the table for checking.

If the rules are not set in stone then the hoddywing 1s is still on the cards.

This is simple guys if you buy an expensive speedo and the rules are then adopted your stuck with an expensive speedo you cant use...... Q moaning.
Now the rules have to be tested and shown to work before they can be adopted into the book so if no one uses them then the whole thing is pointless and I wll run whatever I want will rain supreme or you will stay stuck in the dark ages of silvercan where as Buddy says one motor can be alot slower than the others.

Brushless non turbo means theres no real need for scrutineering because the potential of each motor speedo battery etc is so close the driver actually makes a difference again.

Guys Your choice.

Wayne you have two choices Mate there is nothing illigal with the others ( I hope )

1.

Learn the black art of motors . . . Buying super dupa matched cells and charging them the correct
way spend time and money to get it right this can take years to master and the comination of cells / motors/ ESC

2.

Go 13.5 brushless and 1 cell LiPo

Im not having a go at you Wayne but thats it in a nut shell mate

Ok Gazza fair enough.

I'm not learning the black art so I will just carry on as normal until I have the money for brushless.

cheer all for your comments and hope the rules come out in the brca soon so it's a defo for turbo or not.
